Music Evenings at the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol

On Thursdays, June 25, July 2, and July 9, on the terraces of the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol.

The Musical Evenings at the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol offer small-format concerts featuring local talent, combining live music with cultural outreach. With brief explanations, the audience is introduced to diverse styles, periods, and creators. The library becomes a meeting place where music interacts with literary and artistic heritage, encouraging active listening, discovery, and cultural participation.

Programme:

Thursday, 25 June at 7:00 p.m. - “Vital Rhythm with Percussion”
Presented by Ignasi Corella

“A hands-on experience designed to explore rhythm as a tool for connection and well-being. Following a brief introduction to my musical journey and the origins of rhythm, participants will take part in three practical experiences: TaKeTiNa, body percussion, and Boomwhacker tubes. Through simple and accessible activities, the session invites participants to connect with themselves, activate the body, and create a shared group experience. No previous experience is required—just a willingness to participate and let yourself be carried away by the rhythm.”

Thursday, 2 July at 7:00 p.m. - “An Evening with Pol Borràs & Mix Monfort”
Presented by Pol Borràs and Mix Monfort

Coming from the world of visual arts, Pol Borràs continues to tell stories through his songs, ranging from everyday situations and shared experiences to local and heartfelt stories. His work combines a critical perspective with hope, tenderness, and irony when needed.

The programme features original compositions as well as translations of songs by Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground.

He will be joined by master guitarist Mix Monfort, and there will be other surprises as well!

Thursday, 9 July at 7:00 p.m - “Bella Dorita”
Presented by Agnès Van Gorkom (vocals) and Rudi Rushton (piano)

Singer Agnès Van Gorkom and pianist Rudi Rushton join forces to bring Bella Dorita to life in a performance that invites audiences to immerse themselves in the story of one of the great cabaret figures of the 1940s. A singer, dancer, and icon of Barcelona’s Paral·lel district, Bella Dorita was one of only two Spanish women to perform at the legendary Folies Bergère in Paris. This Musical Evening will be filled with passion and remembrance, paying tribute to an unforgettable woman.
